Jenn earns endorsement from Tim Scott, former City Council president.

I am supporting Jenn Shabazz for County Council District D.

Jenn is 100% ready to do this job. Sometimes it is hard to get to know a first time candidate, but let me tell you why I am supporting Jenn.

In my 8 1/2 years of serving as the 1st District and President of the South Bend Common Council, which covers a vast majority of County Council District D, I see the same passion and commitment in Jenn to represent the people as I had when I served.

Jenn wants this job for the right reasons. She is someone who is committed to this community, these neighborhoods and the people and making sure their voice is heard when it comes to making county government decisions.

She is not a person who jumped into this on a whim, for years she has walked these streets and neighborhoods with friends and the bonus is getting to know many people and the issues in their neighborhoods.

I see her as the servant leader she is; who is willing listen to all people from every part of this district and help where and when it is needed.

What you may not know, she has decades of being a leader, whether it is a principal, school teacher, union representative, campaign leader, or as an activist for women’s health issues; she is always working for the betterment of others.

Jenn is the most experienced and ready-to-serve candidate in this race. And why do I say these things? Jenn has been my friend, colleague and neighbor for close to 15 years.

I see the right person with the right work ethic and the character to do the job the right way.

It is time to for Jennifer Shabazz to be our voice in District D.
